| 9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 225, Transportation Code, | |
| 11 | 11 | is amended by adding Section 225.0341 to read as follows: | |
| 12 | 12 | Sec. 225.0341. VETERANS OF THE KOREAN WAR MEMORIAL HIGHWAY. | |
| 13 | 13 | (a) The following highways are collectively designated as the | |
| 14 | 14 | Veterans of the Korean War Memorial Highway: | |
| 15 | 15 | (1) State Highway 359, between U.S. Highway 83 and | |
| 16 | 16 | State Highway 16; | |
| 17 | 17 | (2) State Highway 16 between State Highway 359 and | |
| 18 | 18 | State Highway 285; and | |
| 19 | 19 | (3) State Highway 285 between State Highway 16 and the | |
| 20 | 20 | eastern boundary of the city of Falfurrias. | |
| 21 | 21 | (b) Subject to Section 225.021(c), the department shall: | |
| 22 | 22 | (1) design and construct memorial markers indicating | |
| 23 | 23 | the highway number, the designation as the Veterans of the Korean | |
| 24 | 24 | War Memorial Highway, and any other appropriate information; and | |
| 25 | 25 | (2) erect a marker at each end of the highway and at | |
| 26 | 26 | appropriate intermediate sites along the highway. | |
| 27 | 27 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2011. |
