99 AN ACT
1010 relating to the location of board meetings of certain economic
1111 development corporations.
1212 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1313 SECTION 1. Section 504.054, Local Government Code, is
1414 amended to read as follows:
1515 Sec. 504.054. LOCATION OF BOARD MEETINGS. (a) Except as
1616 provided by Subsection (b), the [The] board of directors of a Type A
1717 corporation shall conduct each board meeting within the boundaries
1818 of the authorizing municipality.
1919 (b) If the authorizing municipality is located in a county
2020 with a population of less than 30,000, the board of directors of a
2121 Type A corporation may conduct a board meeting within the
2222 boundaries of the county.
2323 SECTION 2. Section 505.055, Local Government Code, is
2424 amended to read as follows:
2525 Sec. 505.055. LOCATION OF BOARD MEETINGS. (a) Except as
2626 provided by Subsection (b), the [The] board of directors of a Type B
2727 corporation shall conduct all meetings within the boundaries of the
2828 authorizing municipality.
2929 (b) If the authorizing municipality is located in a county
3030 with a population of less than 30,000, the board of directors of a
3131 Type B corporation may conduct a board meeting within the
3232 boundaries of the county.
3333 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
3434 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
3535 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
3636 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
3737 Act takes effect September 1, 2011.
