 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 AN ACT
 relating to agreed orders in family law matters.
 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
 SECTION 1.  Subchapter H, Chapter 6, Family Code, is amended
 by adding Section 6.7021 to read as follows:
 Sec. 6.7021.  AGREED ORDER. An agreed order in a suit for
 dissolution of a marriage must comply with Section 105.0061.
 SECTION 2.  Section 85.005, Family Code, is amended by
 adding Subsection (f) to read as follows:
 (f)  An agreed protective order must comply with Section
 105.0061.
 SECTION 3.  Chapter 105, Family Code, is amended by adding
 Section 105.0061 to read as follows:
 Sec. 105.0061.  AGREED ORDER. An agreed order in a suit
 affecting the parent-child relationship or other suit under this
 code, other than Title 3, is not valid unless the order is signed by
 each party to the suit and each attorney representing a party to the
 suit. Each party and party's attorney must sign the order before
 the order is signed by the judge or entered into the record.
 SECTION 4.  The changes in law made by this Act apply only to
 an agreed order entered into on or after the effective date of this
 Act. An agreed order entered into before the effective date of this
 Act is governed by the law in effect on the date on which the order
 was entered into, and the former law is continued in effect for that
 purpose.
 SECTION 5.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2011.
