| 12 | 12 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 13 | 13 | | SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 403, Government Code, is |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | amended by adding Section 403.0142 to read as follows: |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Sec. 403.0142. REPORT ON ORIGIN OF TAX REVENUE. (a) Before |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | each regular session of the legislature, the comptroller shall |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | report to the legislature and the governor on the amount of revenue |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | remitted to the comptroller in each municipality and county for |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | each tax collected by the comptroller if that information is |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | available from tax returns. The report may be included in any other |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | report made by the comptroller. |

| 22 | 22 | | (b) The comptroller shall report the information under |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Subsection (a) as an aggregate total for each tax without |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | disclosing individual tax payments or taxpayers. |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | (c) The comptroller shall publish the report required under |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Subsection (a) on the comptroller's Internet website not later than |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | the 20th day after the date the report is provided to the |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | legislature and the governor. |

| 29 | 29 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2011. |
