 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 AN ACT
 relating to requirements for providing documents and written
 information to certain owners of property subject to the exercise
 of eminent domain authority.
 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
 SECTION 1.  Section 21.0112, Property Code, is amended by
 amending Subsection (b) and adding Subsection (c) to read as
 follows:
 (b)  The statement must [be]:
 (1)  be printed in an easily readable font and type
 size; and
 (2)  if the entity is a governmental entity:
 (A)  be [,] made available on the Internet website
 of the entity if technologically feasible; and
 (B)  include a provision informing the property
 owner that the entity is required to provide all documents and
 written information required under this chapter to be provided to
 the property owner printed in English, Spanish, or any other
 language requested by the property owner.
 (c)  A governmental entity shall provide to a property owner
 all documents and written information required under this chapter
 to be provided to the property owner printed in English, Spanish, or
 any other language requested by the property owner.
 SECTION 2.  The changes in law made by Section 21.0112,
 Property Code, as amended by this Act, apply only to a condemnation
 in which the final offer is made by a governmental entity on or
 after the effective date of this Act. A condemnation in which the
 final offer is made before the effective date of this Act is
 governed by the law in effect on the date the offer was made, and the
 former law is continued in effect for that purpose.
 SECTION 3.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2011.
