 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 AN ACT
 relating to the purchase of food and beverages by certain state law
 enforcement agencies for peace officer training functions.
 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
 SECTION 1.  Subchapter B, Chapter 88, Education Code, is
 amended by adding Section 88.1035 to read as follows:
 Sec. 88.1035.  USE OF FUNDS TO SUPPORT PEACE OFFICER
 TRAINING. The Texas Forest Service, subject to director approval,
 may use appropriated funds to purchase food and beverages for
 training functions required of peace officers of the Texas Forest
 Service.
 SECTION 2.  Subchapter A, Chapter 411, Government Code, is
 amended by adding Section 411.0132 to read as follows:
 Sec. 411.0132.  USE OF FUNDS TO SUPPORT PEACE OFFICER
 TRAINING. The department, subject to director approval, may use
 appropriated funds to purchase food and beverages for training
 functions required of peace officers of the department.
 SECTION 3.  Subchapter B, Chapter 431, Government Code, is
 amended by adding Section 431.0296 to read as follows:
 Sec. 431.0296.  USE OF FUNDS TO SUPPORT MILITARY POLICE
 TRAINING. The department, subject to the adjutant general's
 approval, may use appropriated funds to purchase food and beverages
 for training functions required of the military police of the state
 military forces.
 SECTION 4.  Subchapter B, Chapter 11, Parks and Wildlife
 Code, is amended by adding Section 11.0195 to read as follows:
 Sec. 11.0195.  USE OF FUNDS TO SUPPORT PEACE OFFICER
 TRAINING. The department, subject to director approval, may use
 appropriated funds to purchase food and beverages for training
 functions required of peace officers of the department.
 SECTION 5.  This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution.  If this
 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
 Act takes effect September 1, 2011.
