10 | 10 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
11 | 11 | SECTION 1. Section 42.152, Education Code, is amended by | |
12 | 12 | adding Subsection (c-3) to read as follows: | |
13 | 13 | (c-3) Notwithstanding Subsection (c), funds allocated under | |
14 | 14 | this section may be used to: | |
15 | 15 | (1) provide child-care services or assistance with | |
16 | 16 | child-care expenses for students at risk of dropping out of school, | |
17 | 17 | as defined by Section 29.081(d)(5); or | |
18 | 18 | (2) pay the costs of day care or associated | |
19 | 19 | transportation provided through a life skills program in accordance | |
20 | 20 | with Sections 29.085(b)(3), (4), and (5). | |
21 | 21 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2011. |
