| 10 | 10 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 11 | 11 | SECTION 1. Section 707.017, Transportation Code, as amended | |
| 12 | 12 | by Chapters 266 (H.B. 2530), 542 (S.B. 1617), and 933 (H.B. 3097), | |
| 13 | 13 | Acts of the 81st Legislature, Regular Session, 2009, is reenacted | |
| 14 | 14 | and amended to read as follows: | |
| 15 | 15 | Sec. 707.017. REGISTRATION AFTER CIVIL PENALTY IMPOSED | |
| 16 | 16 | [ENFORCEMENT]. [(a)] If the owner of a motor vehicle is delinquent | |
| 17 | 17 | in the payment of a civil penalty imposed under this chapter, | |
| 18 | 18 | neither the county assessor-collector nor [or] the Texas Department | |
| 19 | 19 | of Motor Vehicles may refuse to register a motor vehicle alleged to | |
| 20 | 20 | have been involved in the violation. | |
| 21 | 21 | [(b) This section does not apply to the registration of a | |
| 22 | 22 | motor vehicle under Section 501.0234.] | |
| 23 | 23 | SECTION 2. To the extent of any conflict, this Act prevails | |
| 24 | 24 | over another Act of the 82nd Legislature, Regular Session, 2011, | |
| 25 | 25 | relating to nonsubstantive additions to and corrections in enacted | |
| 26 | 26 | codes. | |
| 27 | 27 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2011. |
