The bill would amend the Transportation Code to permit the Department of Public Safety to disclose certain address-related information to the Secretary of State (SOS) for voter registration purposes. The bill would also require voter registrars to conduct certain investigations. The bill would take effect immediately upon a two-thirds vote of all the members of each house. Otherwise the bill would take effect September 1, 2011. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
