11 | 11 | BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
12 | 12 | SECTION 1. Section 67, Article XVI, Texas Constitution, is | |
13 | 13 | amended by adding Subsection (f-1) to read as follows: | |
14 | 14 | (f-1) This state is not liable for any debts or other | |
15 | 15 | obligations of a retirement system described by Subsection (f), and | |
16 | 16 | the legislature may not appropriate money to a retirement system | |
17 | 17 | described by Subsection (f) to pay any debts or other obligations of | |
18 | 18 | the retirement system. | |
19 | 19 | SECTION 2. This proposed constitutional amendment shall be | |
20 | 20 | submitted to the voters at an election to be held November 8, 2011. | |
21 | 21 | The ballot shall be printed to permit voting for or against the | |
22 | 22 | proposition: "The constitutional amendment prohibiting the | |
23 | 23 | legislature from appropriating state money to a local public | |
24 | 24 | retirement system to pay any debts or other obligations of the | |
25 | 25 | retirement system." |
