 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, The boys' basketball team of McNeil High School in
 the Round Rock Independent School District achieved a notable
 milestone by winning the 400th game in its history on February 18,
 2011, with a victory over Reagan High School; and
 WHEREAS, The Maverick basketball program began in 1992,
 shortly after the school first opened its doors; as a brand new
 team, McNeil struggled to an 8-22 record that first season, but
 Darrell Hagemann, the school's original and only head coach to
 date, soon got the athletes on the right track; they were 21-12 and
 bi-district champions in just their second year of competition; and
 WHEREAS, The Mavericks returned to the UIL playoffs the next
 two seasons and made it all the way to the state semifinals during
 the 1995-1996 campaign; the following year, McNeil became a 5A team
 and has made it to the postseason 12 times in that division; its
 most recent appearance took place in 2011, when the squad beat Akins
 High School in the first round before falling to The Woodlands; and
 WHEREAS, Throughout the team's history, it has benefited from
 dedicated players; the 2010-2011 lineup was no exception, with
 valuable contributions being made by Jim Airey, Blair Williams,
 Corey Calbreath, Robert Waters, Jacob Jiongo, Hayden Worrell,
 Marcus Timourian, Aaron Abrego, Trent Nielsen, Josh Jones, Kirk
 Teal, Jeremiah Jones, Michael Christiano, Matt Kida, and Max
 Pepper; and
 WHEREAS, Coach Hagemann and assistant coach Cory Shrader are
 justifiably proud of this group as well as all of the previous
 Mavericks basketball players, and the role that each of these young
 men played in the program's achievements is indeed deserving of
 recognition; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate the McNeil High School boys'
 basketball team on winning the 400th game in its history and extend
 to the players and coaches sincere best wishes for continued
 success; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
