 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Lloyd Jenkins is retiring as president of the Plano
 Independent School District Board of Trustees on May 17, 2011,
 concluding his third term of distinguished service; and
 WHEREAS, First elected in 2002, "Skip" Jenkins served the
 Plano ISD board as secretary from 2005 to 2008 and was then elected
 president by his fellow trustees for three consecutive years; he
 earned the designation of Master Trustee from the Texas Association
 of School Boards and is a graduate of Leadership TASB and a charter
 Fellow of the Center for Reform of School Systems; dedicated to
 improving public schools, Mr. Jenkins has served two terms as
 president of the Plano ISD Education Foundation as well; and
 WHEREAS, This dynamic Texan has demonstrated his deep
 commitment to his community in numerous ways through the years; the
 former president of the Plano Rotary Club, he has also served his
 Rotary district as vocational service chair and as a board member
 and counselor for the organization's youth leadership training
 program; in addition, he has been a director of the Plano Children's
 Medical Clinic and is a graduate of Leadership Plano and the Plano
 Citizen's Police Academy; moreover, the Leadership Plano executive
 board gave him its Distinguished Leadership Award in 2005 and
 Inside Collin County Business named him one of "21 Leaders for the
 21st Century"; and
 WHEREAS, A certified public accountant, Mr. Jenkins has been
 a respected member of the Plano business community for more than
 three decades; he holds a bachelor's degree in accounting and a
 master's degree in finance from Michigan State University; and
 WHEREAS, Skip Jenkins has greatly benefited Plano ISD through
 his skill, professionalism, and expertise, and by devoting himself
 to the cause of public education, he has earned the admiration and
 gratitude of his fellow citizens; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate Lloyd "Skip" Jenkins on the
 occasion of his retirement from the Plano Independent School
 District and extend to him sincere best wishes for success in his
 future endeavors; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Mr. Jenkins as an expression of high regard by the
 Texas House of Representatives.
