H.R. No. 1088
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Elaine Rosen of El Paso is retiring on April 2, 2011,
as owner of More Than Baskets, a gift basket delivery business she
founded 25 years ago; and
WHEREAS, Since starting the company in January 1986,
Ms. Rosen has brightened the days of countless El Paso area
residents with her specially packaged and hand-delivered gift
baskets; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Rosen has further distinguished herself through
her outstanding volunteerism; in the 1970s, she helped lead the
effort to create KCOS, El Paso's first public television station,
and she subsequently served as chair of the El Paso Public
Television Foundation for nearly a decade; she has also shared her
time and talents with several local organizations, including the
PTA, and she has been involved in the Temple Mount Sinai Sisterhood;
in 1978, she received the Hannah Solomon Award from the National
Council of Jewish Women for her contributions to her community; and
WHEREAS, Elaine Rosen has demonstrated drive,
resourcefulness, and a commitment to excellence both as a
businesswoman and as a civic leader, and she may indeed reflect with
pride on her accomplishments as she embarks on the next exciting
chapter of her life; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Elaine Rosen on her retirement and
extend to her sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be
it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Rosen as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
