H.R. No. 1102 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, In a display of teamwork, talent, and dedication, the 2010-2011 boys' basketball team of Ovilla Christian School captured the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools District 3-3A championship; and WHEREAS, The Eagles established a 19-13 overall record and went 8-2 against their district opponents to claim the school's first title since 1998-1999; and WHEREAS, Travis Bond led Ovilla Christian in scoring with 756 points, a school record, and was named the district's offensive most valuable player; the other members of the squad also made vital contributions, and with the leadership of coach Matt Jones, they combined to create a memorable season in which the team exceeded expectations; and WHEREAS, The determined student-athletes of the Ovilla Christian School boys' basketball team are a source of great pride to their many supporters, and their outstanding performance on the court is indeed deserving of special recognition; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas Legislature hereby congratulate the Ovilla Christian School boys' basketball team on winning the TAPPS District 3-3A title and extend sincere best wishes to the players, coaches, and staff for continued success; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
