 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, The certain knowledge of a life well lived may
 comfort those saddened by the death of Gilda Marie Gonzalez of El
 Paso on March 21, 2011, at the age of 58; and
 WHEREAS, A native of Los Angeles, California, the former
 Gilda Pena was born on August 7, 1952, to Salvador and Amparo Pena;
 she earned a bachelor's and double master's degrees from The
 University of Texas at El Paso and went on to devote more than 35
 years to the students of the El Paso, Socorro, and Ysleta
 Independent School Districts as a counselor and speech pathologist;
 and
 WHEREAS, In 1984, she married Edwin Gonzalez, with whom she
 shared many happy years and raised two children, Jeffrey and
 Natalie; she cherished the company of her loved ones, and in her
 free time she enjoyed solving puzzles, drawing, and singing; and
 WHEREAS, Gilda Gonzalez was a mentor to many coworkers, and
 she inspired others with her kind and caring ways; she will forever
 be remembered with deep affection by all those who were privileged
 to know her; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Gilda Marie Gonzalez
 and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her
 husband, Edwin Gonzalez; to her son, Jeffrey Gonzalez; to her
 daughter, Natalie Gonzalez; to her sister, Ruth Pena; and to her
 other relatives and friends; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Gilda Marie
 Gonzalez.
