H.R. No. 1105
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced
by a great and enduring love, Santos Herrera, Sr., and Dominga
Herrera of Lubbock celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on
March 10, 2011; and
WHEREAS, Santos Herrera and the former Dominga Galvan were
united in matrimony in Plainview in 1961; through the years, they
have nurtured a fulfilling marriage that has been made even richer
with the addition of three children, Marilyn Walker, Santos
Herrera, Jr., and Maxine Herrera, as well as five grandchildren and
two great-grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, While much has changed in the world over the past
five decades, this devoted husband and wife have remained constant
in their commitment to one another, and the strength of their love
has enabled them to meet life's challenges and opportunities with
grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Santos Herrera, Sr., and Dominga
Herrera on their golden wedding anniversary and extend to them
sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Herrera as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
