 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, The girls' basketball team of Martins Mill High
 School enjoyed an outstanding 2010-2011 season, advancing all the
 way to the final game of the University Interscholastic League 1A
 Division 1 state tournament; and
 WHEREAS, The Lady Mustangs finished the campaign with a
 notable record of 39 victories against just 4 defeats for an
 impressive .907 winning percentage; in the playoffs, the team
 reeled off commanding triumphs over Rayburn, LaPoynor, Zavalla, and
 Honey Grove, winning by no fewer than 25 points in each contest; and
 WHEREAS, At the state tournament in Austin, these determined
 competitors notched a 49-31 win over Falls City High School in the
 semifinal before falling to Smyer High in a hard-fought title game
 to finish as runner-up; and
 WHEREAS, Throughout the season, Martins Mill received
 valuable contributions from each member of the roster: Emily
 Williams, Brianne Miller, Cassidy McCoy, Kenzie Roberts, Joanna
 Daniel, Taylor Munns, Haily Jenkins, Kelsey Tarrant, Ashton Wood,
 and Meagan Weatherford; and
 WHEREAS, Ably guided by head coach Doug Barncastle, the team
 also benefited from the support of assistant coaches Katie Skinner
 and Don Tarrant as well as team managers Alyssa Pate, Erika Parker,
 Jillian Jones, Cheyenne Brown, Madison Daniel, and Mollie Daniel;
 and
 WHEREAS, The dedicated student-athletes of the Martins Mill
 High School girls' basketball team are a source of great pride to
 their many supporters in the local community, and their memorable
 performance on the court is indeed deserving of special
 recognition; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate the Martins Mill High School girls'
 basketball team on its successful 2010-2011 season and extend
 sincere best wishes to the team's players, coaches, and staff for
 the future; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for the Lady Mustangs as an expression of high regard by
 the Texas House of Representatives.
