 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, The Friendswood Senior Citizen Program has
 demonstrated an exceptional commitment to improving the quality of
 life for area residents; and
 WHEREAS, The program offers lectures, trips, performances,
 and classes designed to meet the needs and match the interests of a
 growing and active senior population; dancing, fitness
 instruction, and Tai Chi are among the options available to
 participants, and special events include holiday celebrations and
 live entertainment from local and regional artists; and
 WHEREAS, The Friendswood Activity Building, where the
 program is located, includes an extensive library and rooms
 dedicated to fitness, conferences, and computer use; in addition,
 volunteers with the program help with errands and minor home
 repairs and assist family caregivers in myriad ways; and
 WHEREAS, A healthy and productive citizenry depends on the
 support of services like those provided by the Friendswood Senior
 Citizen Program, and all those associated with this notable
 endeavor may take great pride in their efforts; now, therefore, be
 it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
 Legislature hereby commend the Friendswood Senior Citizen Program
 for enriching the lives of seniors in the community and extend to
 all participants sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it
 further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for the program as an expression of high regard by the
 Texas House of Representatives.
