H.R. No. 1289
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Christina Swanson, a sales manager with the Waco
Convention and Visitors Bureau, passed the Certified Meeting
Professional exam in 2011; and
WHEREAS, Established by the Convention Industry Council in
1985, the Certified Meeting Professional program is designed to
enhance the knowledge and performance of those in the meeting,
conference, and convention industry; in order to qualify for the
examination, candidates must have accumulated a minimum number of
years of work experience and must provide evidence of continuing
education or relevant internships; more than 14,000 individuals
worldwide have earned the credential; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Swanson works with government, corporate,
social, military, fraternal, and ethnic groups in her position as
convention sales manager; in addition, she represents the Waco
Convention and Visitors Bureau in the Society of Government Meeting
Professionals; and
WHEREAS, Christina Swanson may indeed take pride in her
latest achievement, and it is a pleasure to recognize this
noteworthy milestone in her career; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Christina Swanson on passing the
Certified Meeting Professional exam and extend to her sincere best
wishes for continued success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Swanson as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
