H.R. No. 1293
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Robinson FFA members Matt Davis and Colton Moorhouse
took home blue ribbons from the San Angelo Stock Show & Rodeo's
agricultural mechanics contest held February 22 through 24, 2011;
and
WHEREAS, Projects entered in the contest were judged on
workmanship, design, practicality, degree of difficulty, and
finish; the students were required to submit project plans that
included photographs and a bill of materials and to take part in an
interview with judges to assess their knowledge of the undertaking;
and
WHEREAS, Mr. Davis and Mr. Moorhouse collaborated on one
project, a 10-foot bumper-pull utility trailer, and Mr. Davis also
constructed a "cowboy cooker" for the contest; judges commended
them for their quality of workmanship and for the computer-aided
drawings they produced; and
WHEREAS, Through creativity and initiative, these young
Texans have won the respect of their competitors and classmates,
and the confidence, skills, and experience they have gained through
the FFA program will be of great benefit to them in their future
endeavors; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Matt Davis and Colton Moorhouse on
winning blue ribbons at the San Angelo Stock Show & Rodeo's
agricultural mechanics contest and extend to them sincere best
wishes for continued success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That official copies of this resolution be prepared
for Mr. Davis and Mr. Moorhouse as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
