H.R. No. 1317
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, In an outstanding display of athletic ability,
Jordan Jones of Kingwood High School won two individual swimming
titles at the University Interscholastic League 5A State Meet on
February 18 and 19, 2011; and
WHEREAS, A junior on the Mustangs swimming and diving team,
Mr. Jones bested a talented field in the 500-yard freestyle with a
time of 4:24.54; and
WHEREAS, In the 100-yard breaststroke, this determined
competitor finished in 56.32, more than half a second faster than
the second-place swimmer; and
WHEREAS, The son of Scott and Lynn Jones, Jordan Jones is
looking forward to his senior year of competition in 2011-2012,
when he will once again compete under the direction of Kingwood head
coach Russell Duin and assistant coach Laura Ledlow; and
WHEREAS, The success achieved by Mr. Jones is a testament to
his hard work and commitment to excellence, attributes that will
continue to serve him well in the years to come; now, therefore, be
it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Jordan Jones on winning two
swimming titles at the 2011 UIL 5A State Meet and extend to him
sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Jones as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
