H.R. No. 1392
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, With a string of convincing victories over talented
rivals, the Crawford High School softball team captured the 2011
Waco Independent School District Softball Tournament; and
WHEREAS, The event included 12 teams, and the Lady Pirates
triumphed in all five of their games, beating University High
School 13-6, Waco 7-0, Blooming Grove 10-0, Troy 11-0, and Lorena
6-1; and
WHEREAS, Winning was a true team effort for Crawford High,
and throughout the season coach Kirk Allen received outstanding
contributions from each member of the roster, which includes Amanda
Fulp, Leah Brown, Sydney Christensen, Carrigan Chambers, Morgan
Groppe, Korie Dutschmann, Anabeth Fuller, Jessica Tomchesson, Tori
Phillips, Perri Baize, Brittany Bottoms, Cameron Cale, and Cheyenne
Fisk; and
WHEREAS, A tournament win against top-level competition is a
notable accomplishment, and the Lady Pirates may take justifiable
pride in their outstanding performance; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate the Crawford High School Lady
Pirates on winning the 2011 Waco ISD Softball Tournament and extend
to the team's players, coaches, and staff sincere best wishes for
continued success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
