H.R. No. 1422
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, March 2, 2011, marked the 60th wedding anniversary
of Carrol and Blanch Ward of McGregor, providing a fitting
opportunity to reflect on their memorable journey together as
husband and wife; and
WHEREAS, Carrol Ward and the former Blanch Hill were joined
in matrimony in 1951; through the years, they have been blessed with
a treasured family that includes two children and their spouses,
Don Ward and his wife, Billie, and Pamela DeBorde and her husband,
David, as well as two grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, After attending school in Little River-Academy, Mr.
Ward worked for TXU Energy before retiring; Mrs. Ward, who grew up
in Rogers, worked for Smead Manufacturing; and
WHEREAS, The 60 years of marriage that Mr. and Mrs. Ward have
shared is eloquent affirmation of the meaning of love and
commitment, and their enduring union is an inspiration to all who
know them; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Carrol and Blanch Ward on their
60th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for
continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Ward as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
