H.R. No. 1432
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Shirley Chadwick received the Distinguished
Lifetime Achievement Award from the Mineola Chamber of Commerce on
February 15, 2011, and her selection for this honor is indicative of
the positive effect she has had in the community; and
WHEREAS, The former manager of the Mineola chamber, Shirley
Chadwick took what she thought would be a temporary position with
the organization and stayed for 24 years; throughout her tenure,
she worked diligently to promote the economic growth and
development of the Wood County city; though now retired from the job
she loved, she remains involved in chamber activities and serves as
an advisor; and
WHEREAS, In all of her endeavors, Mrs. Chadwick enjoys the
support of her husband, Gene, and her sons, Chad and John David, and
she also takes great pride in her five grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, The strength of our communities depends on
individuals like Shirley Chadwick, whose tireless work in behalf of
area residents and businesses has contributed immeasurably to the
quality of life in Mineola; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Shirley Chadwick on her receipt of
the Distinguished Lifetime Achievement Award from the Mineola
Chamber of Commerce and extend to her sincere best wishes for
continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mrs. Chadwick as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
