 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Princell Hair, senior vice president of news
 operations for Comcast Sports Group, is visiting the Lone Star
 State, and this occasion provides a fitting opportunity to honor
 him for his professional achievements; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Hair honed his skills as a television news
 producer in Miami, Detroit, and Chicago before becoming a news
 director at stations in Orlando, Chicago, Baltimore, and Los
 Angeles as well as for the Viacom Television Stations Group; and
 WHEREAS, In 2003, he joined Turner Broadcasting System as the
 general manager for Cable News Network, and he also held a senior
 position with the TBS strategic planning group; during his years
 with the company, he helped guide a restructuring of CNN and
 supervised other important efforts, including the introduction of
 new on-air talent and the creation of an investigative journalism
 unit; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Hair's tenure at Comcast Sports Group began in
 2008; in overseeing its news operations, he is responsible for the
 programming and digital content for 14 regional networks that reach
 more than 50 million households around the nation; and
 WHEREAS, Highly respected by his peers, Mr. Hair has garnered
 a number of awards through the years, including an Emmy for his work
 on a series on inner-city violence and recognition from CableFax
 magazine as one of the most influential minorities in the cable
 industry during 2010; and
 WHEREAS, In meeting the challenges of his job, he draws on the
 knowledge he gained while earning a bachelor's degree in broadcast
 journalism from Florida International University and a master's
 degree from Emory University; in addition to his professional
 responsibilities, he has served on the board of visitors for his
 undergraduate alma mater and is an advocate for autism charities;
 and
 WHEREAS, Princell Hair's leadership and expertise have made
 him an influential figure in television broadcasting, and he is
 sure to remain at the forefront of the industry for many years to
 come; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
 Legislature hereby honor Princell Hair on his achievements as a
 media executive and extend to him sincere best wishes for an
 enjoyable stay in Texas; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Mr. Hair as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
