H.R. No. 1440 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, John P. Reinhart of Cub Scout Pack No. 34 in Austin received the Arrow of Light Award in January 2011, and his accomplishment truly merits special recognition; and WHEREAS, An integral part of the Boy Scouts of America, the Cub Scout organization emphasizes citizenship training, character development, and personal fitness while also helping young people to understand the importance of leadership, sportsmanship, community service, family relationships, and religious duties; and WHEREAS, To be eligible for the Arrow of Light Award, which is Cub Scouting's highest honor, an individual must fulfill a number of requirements, including a Webelos badge and five additional activity badges; and WHEREAS, Chartered by the St. Austin Catholic Church in Austin, Cub Scout Pack No. 34 offers year-round programs for boys in the first through fifth grades; throughout their scouting experience, these fine young Texans hone their skills in such areas as camping, athletics, teamwork, first aid, knot tying, woodworking, and knife safety; and WHEREAS, In meeting the criteria for achieving the Arrow of Light Award, Mr. Reinhart has demonstrated admirable determination in the pursuit of a worthwhile goal, and together with his parents and Cub Scout leaders, he may indeed reflect with tremendous pride on a job well done; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas Legislature hereby congratulate John P. Reinhart on earning the Arrow of Light Award and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Reinhart as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
