R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The Artie Henry Middle School band of Cedar Park has
earned the 2010 Sudler Cup from the John Philip Sousa Foundation;
and
WHEREAS, This prestigious award recognizes school bands that
have demonstrated the highest standards of excellence in concert
activities over a period of several years, receiving superior
ratings at regional, statewide, and national competitions; and
WHEREAS, One of only three ensembles in the country to earn
the 2010 Sudler Cup, the Artie Henry Middle School band has been
ably led by conductor Robert Herring III; and
WHEREAS, Through hard work, dedication, and perseverance,
the talented student musicians of the Artie Henry Middle School
band have earned great distinction for themselves and their school;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate the Artie Henry Middle School band
on earning the 2010 Sudler Cup and extend to all those associated
with the group sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it
further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the band as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
