 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, A long and remarkable life drew to a close with the
 death of Ross Snodgrass of Kerrville on January 26, 2011, at the age
 of 107; and
 WHEREAS, Born on the Divide in Kerr County on May 12, 1903,
 Mr. Snodgrass attended Rocksprings High School before entering the
 family ranching business with his father and two brothers;
 together, they raised top-quality cattle, sheep, goats, quarter
 horses, and border collies; and
 WHEREAS, On July 1, 1933, Mr. Snodgrass married the former
 Clarabelle Barton; at the time of his passing, their marriage of
 77-and-a-half years was thought to be the longest in the State of
 Texas; they were blessed with a daughter, Jeri, and a son, David,
 and their family grew to include four grandchildren and nine
 great-grandchildren; the couple became residents of Kerrville
 after Mr. Snodgrass retired from ranching at the age of 65; and
 WHEREAS, A member of the Leakey Masonic Lodge No. 622 since
 1927, Mr. Snodgrass was also an honorary member of the Kerrville
 Masons; he belonged to three dance clubs as well as the Texas Sheep
 and Goat Raisers Association and the Texas Quarter Horse
 Association; and
 WHEREAS, During his time on this earth, Ross Snodgrass
 enriched countless lives and bore witness to a century filled with
 momentous changes, and this admirable Texan will be fondly
 remembered by all those who had the good fortune to know him; now,
 therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Ross Snodgrass and
 extend sincere condolences to the members of his family: to his
 wife, Clarabelle; to his daughter, Jeri Snodgrass; to his son,
 David Snodgrass; to his grandchildren, Shelby Smith, Cody Smith,
 Dena Anderson, and Davin Snodgrass; to his nine
 great-grandchildren; and to his other relatives and friends; and,
 be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Ross
 Snodgrass.
