H.R. No. 1454 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, April 2, 2011, marked the 50th wedding anniversary of Delbert and Carolyn McDougal of Lubbock, providing a fitting opportunity to reflect on their memorable journey together as husband and wife; and WHEREAS, Delbert McDougal and the former Carolyn Ratliff were joined in matrimony on that special day in 1961 at a ceremony held in Levelland; through the years, they have been blessed with a treasured family that includes two sons and their spouses, Marc and Pam McDougal and Mike and Melissa McDougal, as well as three grandchildren, Tara, Tyler and his wife, Audra, and Hudson, and a great-grandson, Tye; and WHEREAS, Respected members of their community, Mr. and Mrs. McDougal own and operate the McDougal Companies, a housing, real estate, and construction enterprise founded by Mr. McDougal in 1982 that involves the entire McDougal family in its day-to-day operations; the couple and their company are industry leaders at the local, state, and national levels, as well as actively involved in the Lubbock and greater West Texas area, serving on numerous boards and engaging in a variety of civic and philanthropic endeavors; and WHEREAS, The 50 years of marriage that Mr. and Mrs. McDougal have shared is eloquent affirmation of the meaning of love and commitment, and their enduring union is an inspiration to all who know them; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Delbert and Carolyn McDougal on their golden wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. and Mrs. McDougal as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
