H.R. No. 1492 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, A quarter-century of exemplary service in behalf of the town of Hawk Cove has brought Leetta Goolsby the distinct honor of having the city park named after her; and WHEREAS, Ms. Goolsby moved to Hawk Cove in 1986 and has dedicated herself to giving back to the community ever since; she was secretary of the local home owner's association and a member of the first city council, and she has served two terms as court clerk, one as city secretary, and one as mayor; and WHEREAS, Such is Ms. Goolsby's pride in her adopted hometown that she can often be found doing general upkeep on city property; she is highly regarded by her fellow citizens for her tireless efforts, and she is unofficially known as "the first lady of Hawk Cove"; and WHEREAS, By giving freely of her time and talents, this dedicated Texan has helped make her town an even better place in which to live, and it is a pleasure to honor her for her many good works; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Leetta Goolsby on the city park of Hawk Cove being named in her honor and commend her for her outstanding civic engagement; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Ms. Goolsby as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
