H.R. No. 1518
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The 12-and-under team from the Heart of Texas
Volleyball Institute in Hewitt won first place in the Austin Sports
Center No. 3 Tournament on January 30, 2011; and
WHEREAS, Compiling a perfect 4-0 record in the event, the
Heart of Texas team defeated the Austin Juniors Navy squad in the
championship match; and
WHEREAS, Under the leadership of director and coach Van
Davis, the institute uses volleyball training as a means of
teaching young women the importance of commitment, responsibility,
teamwork, community service, and a strong work ethic; and
WHEREAS, Members of the title-winning team include Haley
Moore, Molly Martinsen, Sadie Hopkins, Caitie Chandler, Bianca
Convento, Alley Beth Deaton, Kaitlyn Mitchell, and Kennady
Childers; and
WHEREAS, The hard work and dedication demonstrated by these
young Texans has resulted in outstanding play on the volleyball
court, and the values instilled by Coach Davis will continue to
serve them well in the years to come; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate the members of the 12-and-under
team of the Heart of Texas Volleyball Institute on their victory at
the Austin Sports Center No. 3 Tournament and extend to them sincere
best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
