H.R. No. 1539
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The loved ones of Willie Lee Whitlow of Beverly
Hills were greatly saddened by her death on March 22, 2011, at the
age of 89; and
WHEREAS, A native of Dallas, the former Willie Boyce was born
on April 21, 1921, to Philip and Carrie Boyce; she married Woodrow
Whitlow, and the couple shared a rewarding marriage before his
passing; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Whitlow was devoted to her family; she was the
proud mother of two sons, David and Gary, and she was further
blessed with two grandsons and four great-grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, Willie Whitlow enjoyed a life that was rich in the
intangibles that matter most, and she is deeply missed by all those
who held her dear; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Willie Lee Whitlow
and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her
sons, David Whitlow, Sr., and his wife, Kathy, and Gary Whitlow; to
her grandsons, David Whitlow, Jr., and his wife, Tanya, and Kevin
Whitlow and his wife, Summer; to her great-grandchildren, Brianna,
Tyler, Kolten, and Ryley Whitlow; and to her other relatives and
friends; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Willie Lee
Whitlow.
