R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The wisdom and experience of centenarians are a
source of enduring inspiration, and it is indeed a pleasure to honor
Letha Avery of Waco for having joined this elite group of Texans;
and
WHEREAS, Born on March 13, 1911, Ms. Avery has seen her own
story play out against the backdrop of a uniquely eventful period in
history; and
WHEREAS, Through the years, she has enriched the lives of
those around her with her kind and caring ways, and she has in turn
been blessed with decades of wonderful memories; and
WHEREAS, Letha Avery holds a special place in the hearts of
her loved ones, and she may reflect with great satisfaction on a
century of life well lived; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Letha Avery on the remarkable
milestone of her 100th birthday and extend to her sincere best
wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Avery as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
