 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Demonstrating great skill and dedication, the
 six-man football team from Brenham Christian Academy captured the
 2010 Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools Division II
 state championship on December 4, 2010; and
 WHEREAS, The Eagles won the title with a 52-12 victory over
 Tyler Street Christian Academy of Dallas, completing a perfect 14-0
 season and taking home the first state championship in the school's
 history; over the course of the 2010 campaign, the team outscored
 its opponents 841 to 187 and registered five shutouts, an
 impressive feat in the high-scoring environment of six-man
 football; after winning just one game in 10 tries in the 2007
 season, the Eagles have posted a 38-2 record, a remarkable
 turnaround for the program; and
 WHEREAS, In their march to the state title, the Eagles
 received valuable contributions from each member of the roster:
 seniors Drew Anderson, James Anderson, Reagan Cameron, Dylan Cole,
 Roy Dawson, Azamat Pate, Ian Roskow, and Michael Wolfskill; juniors
 Kyle Armstrong, Austin Dettling, Royce Gross, Alex Pryor, and
 Stephen Ridgway; sophomore Kris Rigsby; and freshmen Bryce
 Armstrong, Collin Kolkhorst, Kyle Kolkhorst, Talgat Pate, David
 Rigsby, Joey Steele, and Nate Taylor; and
 WHEREAS, These talented athletes received essential guidance
 from head coach Matt Tarbutton, who has taken Brenham Christian
 Academy to the state finals in each of the two seasons he has led the
 team, with the 2009 squad falling just one victory short of the
 title; the Eagles also benefited from the knowledgeable advice of
 assistant coaches Jesse Hayre, Peter Morissette, Les Armstrong, and
 Denny Varghese; and
 WHEREAS, Winning a state championship represents the
 culmination of countless hours of hard work and an unwavering
 commitment to excellence, and the members of the Brenham Christian
 Academy Eagles football team will treasure the memory of this
 accomplishment for many years to come; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate the Brenham Christian Academy
 football team on winning the 2010 TAPPS Six-man Division II state
 football championship and extend to the players, coaches, and staff
 sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
