H.R. No. 1691
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Alvin and Glenda Burton of Lubbock celebrated their
50th wedding anniversary on March 31, 2011, and they may indeed
reflect with joy on the rewarding relationship they have shared;
and
WHEREAS, Alvin Burton and the former Glenda Dickerson
exchanged the vows of matrimony at a ceremony held at First Church
of the Nazarene in Lubbock in 1961, and over the course of their
marriage, they have found in each other a loving life partner; and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Burton count among their blessings a
fine family that includes their son Russell Burton as well as their
granddaughter, with whom they share the many special occasions of
life; and
WHEREAS, For half a century, Alvin and Glenda Burton have
brought to their marriage laughter, kindness, and devotion, and it
is a pleasure to honor them for their enduring commitment; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Alvin and Glenda Burton on their
golden wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes
for continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the Burtons as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
