 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the
 death of Cyril W. Cernosek of West on March 16, 2011, at the age of
 80; and
 WHEREAS, Born in West on February 3, 1931, to John and Annie
 Mae Cernosek, C. W. Cernosek served his country in the United States
 Air Force during the Korean conflict; he married Margaret
 Pustejovsky in Abbott on May 28, 1952, and they spent nearly 58
 years together and welcomed 8 children into their family, as well as
 19 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Cernosek was employed by the General Tire and
 Rubber Company in Waco for 33 years, and he also worked as a sales
 agent and state director for the RVOS Farm Mutual Insurance
 Company; he was a longtime member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of
 the Assumption and took part in the St. Mary's Quarterback Club and
 a local chapter of the Knights of Columbus; and
 WHEREAS, This esteemed Texan shared his time and talents with
 many organizations in his area, including the Texas Teenage
 Baseball/Softball Association, the West Longhorn Club, the West
 Fair and Rodeo Association, and the West Athletic Booster Club; he
 was a member of the McLennan/Hill Chapter of the Czech Heritage
 Society of Texas and the Texas Czech Ancestors and served on the
 board of directors of the Czech Educational Foundation of Texas,
 and he was also a director of the annual Westfest Czech and polka
 festival since its inception in 1976; moreover, he served his
 community as a city council member; and
 WHEREAS, Throughout his life, C. W. Cernosek dedicated
 himself to making a positive difference in the world around him, and
 he will long be fondly remembered by all those who had the good
 fortune to know him; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Cyril Cernosek and
 extend sincere condolences to the members of his family: to his
 sons, C. W. "Butch" Cernosek, Jr., and his wife, Sharon, Richard
 Cernosek and Sandy Chavez, and Donald Cernosek and his wife, Paula;
 to his daughters, Denise McGuire and her husband, Dean, Carol
 Bartosh and her husband, Tommy, Joanie Crain and her husband,
 David, and Julie Freeman and her husband, Richard; to his brothers,
 Johnny, Bill, and Edward Cernosek; to his 19 grandchildren and 10
 great-grandchildren; and to his other relatives and friends; and,
 be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of C. W.
 Cernosek.
