H.R. No. 1715
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Five members of the West High School boys'
basketball team received District 8-3A honors for their
accomplishments during the 2010-2011 season; and
WHEREAS, In recognition of their outstanding on-court
performance, Holden Sykora and Erran Mays were named to the
all-district second team, while Kevin Adkins and Justin Sepeda
earned honorable mentions; and
WHEREAS, Holden Sykora further distinguished himself by
being selected for the district all-academic team, and he was
joined in that honor by his brother, Kyler Sykora; and
WHEREAS, Awards such as these are the result of hard work,
talent, and commitment to excellence, and these exemplary
student-athletes may take justifiable pride in their achievements;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate the all-district athletic and
academic honorees from the West High School Trojans basketball team
and extend to them best wishes for continued success in all their
endeavors; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the players as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
