R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Gene Manske has earned the title of 2010 Outstanding
Farmer from the McGregor Chamber of Commerce; and
WHEREAS, Carrying on a significant family legacy, Mr. Manske
farms the land his German immigrant grandparents, the Wittes,
farmed in the late 1800s; and
WHEREAS, Also active in his community, Mr. Manske helped to
bring the Smead Manufacturing plant to McGregor, and the business
provided jobs for local residents for many years; and
WHEREAS, The rewarding but challenging work of running a
sustainable agricultural operation is not only a valuable service
to the community but also a vital link to the rich and colorful
history of the Lone Star State, and Gene Manske continues to
contribute immeasurably to this fine tradition; now, therefore, be
it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Gene Manske on being named a 2010
Outstanding Farmer by the McGregor Chamber of Commerce and extend
to him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Manske as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
