 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Donald Clifton Heath of Temple is turning 80 years
 old on April 25, 2011, and this occasion provides a welcome
 opportunity to recognize this esteemed Texan; and
 WHEREAS, Born in 1931 in San Perlita to William and Johnnie
 Heath, Don Heath developed a love for horses as a small boy; he went
 on to work as a cowboy and has ridden horses throughout his adult
 life; he was a longtime member of the Bell County Sheriff's Posse
 drill team, and he also mastered the art of horseshoeing, which he
 did professionally for more than 30 years; and
 WHEREAS, Possessing a strong work ethic, Mr. Heath has worked
 hard throughout his life; he farmed land near Raymondville, was
 employed for two decades with the Reynolds Metals Company in Corpus
 Christi, and for nearly 25 years worked as a salesman and branch
 manager for the Gulf Coast Paper Company in Cuero, Brownsville, and
 Temple; since his retirement in 1996, he has been involved in
 several ventures, including a commercial hay baling business in
 Bell County, which he ran from 2000 to 2004; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Heath shared over 45 years with his wife, Alta,
 until her passing in 1996; fortunate enough to find love a second
 time, he married Janey Lewis Smith in 1997; this devoted family man
 takes great pride in his two children, Pattie Beebe and Clifton
 Heath, his stepdaughter, Jana Smith Copeland, and his 11
 grandchildren and great-granddaughter, to whom he is
 affectionately known as "Pappy"; and
 WHEREAS, Known for his outgoing nature and his religious
 faith, Don Heath is a source of wisdom and inspiration to all who
 are privileged to know him, and it is a pleasure to commend him on
 eight decades of life well lived; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
 Legislature hereby honor Donald Clifton Heath on his 80th birthday
 and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and,
 be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Mr. Heath as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
