H.R. No. 1753 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Neil Evan Rinehart of Plano is marking a special milestone in his life with the observance of his 60th birthday on May 9, 2011; and WHEREAS, Born in Mount Ayr, Iowa, in 1951 to Park and Joan Rinehart, Neil Rinehart was in the Junior Atoms 4-H Club and Little League, and he owned two horses, Dimples and King, while he was growing up; he played the saxophone in concert band and was in a rock band in high school, and he was also a versatile athlete, excelling at football, basketball, baseball, and track; president of the student council and of his class, he graduated from Mount Ayr Community High School in 1969; and WHEREAS, Mr. Rinehart then earned a bachelor's degree and a master's in business administration from the University of Iowa, where he was the president of the Sigma Nu fraternity; he came to Dallas in 1977 to begin his career in the financial services industry at E. F. Hutton; that same year, he married the love of his life, Sheila Kay Funderburgh; and WHEREAS, With more than three decades of experience in finance, Mr. Rinehart is a first vice president and financial advisor at Merrill Lynch; he is also the author of two books that reflect his passion for sports and investing, It's All the Same Game: The Sports Fan's Guide to Success in the Stock Market and Finding Your "A" Game: Golf, Investing, and Life, published in 2003 and 2005; he is particularly devoted to the Texas Rangers; and WHEREAS, Mr. Rinehart shares his talents and expertise with the Junior Achievement organization and is a member of the University of Iowa Alumni Association; he attends Christ United Methodist Church in Plano; and WHEREAS, In all of his endeavors, Mr. Rinehart enjoys the support of his wife and best friend, Sheila, and his children, Matthew Rinehart and Allison Rinehart Billodeau and her husband, Justin; he takes great pride in his two grandchildren, Greyson Reid Billodeau and Grant Evan Billodeau, and he loves to spend time with them, helping them gain an appreciation for nature, animals, and the art of napping, as well as teaching them the proper technique for dunking Oreo cookies in milk; and WHEREAS, A kindhearted, generous, and funny man with a quiet confidence, Neil Rinehart has enhanced the lives of his family, his friends, and all who are privileged to know him, and it is indeed a pleasure to join with his loved ones in recognizing him for six decades of life well lived; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Neil Evan Rinehart on his 60th birthday and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Rinehart as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
