 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, The loved ones of Acie John Butler of Houston were
 deeply saddened by his passing on April 21, 2011, at the age of 77;
 and
 WHEREAS, Born in Carthage, Acie Butler had a notable career
 with the United States Postal Service that spanned more than three
 decades; and
 WHEREAS, This devoted family man shared many happy years with
 his wife, Shirley Handy Butler, with whom he raised 8 children,
 Reginald, Rodney, Vincent, John, Michael, Darrell, Cynthia, and
 Cheryl; he also shared the affection of 12 grandchildren and 5
 great-grandchildren; and
 WHEREAS, Acie Butler lived a caring and purposeful life, and
 he will forever hold a treasured place in the hearts of those
 fortunate enough to have shared in his love and friendship; now,
 therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Acie John Butler and
 extend deepest sympathy to the members of his family: to his
 children, Reginald, Vincent, John, Michael, and Darrell Butler,
 Rodney Butler and his wife, Rolanda, Cynthia Young, and Cheryl
 Butler-Ware and her husband, Olen; to his 12 grandchildren; to his 5
 great-grandchildren; and to his other relatives and friends; and,
 be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Acie John
 Butler.
