H.R. No. 1862 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Carlos A. Garcia has distinguished himself through his service as secretary of the Fort Bend County Democratic Party; and WHEREAS, Long engaged in civic life, Mr. Garcia joined the Southwest Voter Registration Program in 1974; he later served on numerous committees in the city of Rosenberg, and beginning in the 1990s, he gave generously of his time and talents during county, state, and national elections for more than a decade; and WHEREAS, Mr. Garcia has demonstrated his deep commitment to his community in many ways; a graduate of the Fort Bend Leadership Program, he has served on the boards of the Rosenberg-Richmond Chamber of Commerce and the Rosenberg Development Corporation, as a member of the Fort Bend Hispanic Heritage Forum, and on the Fort Bend Grand Jury; moreover, he has served as president of the PTO for the Lamar Consolidated Independent School District and has coached Rose-Rich softball and YMCA baseball; and WHEREAS, A respected businessman, Mr. Garcia is the proprietor and president of C&J Audio, Inc., and an independent insurance agent as well; and WHEREAS, Politically engaged citizens play a vital role in the democratic process in the Lone Star State, and Carlos Garcia may indeed take pride in his many contributions; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas Legislature hereby honor Carlos A. Garcia for his service as secretary of the Fort Bend County Democratic Party and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Garcia as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
