H.R. No. 1884
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Sharing a deep bond of love that has spanned six
decades, Wayne and Catherine Long of Georgetown celebrated their
60th wedding anniversary on May 5, 2011; and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Long exchanged the vows of matrimony on
that memorable day in 1951, and over the course of their marriage,
they have found in each other a devoted life partner; and
WHEREAS, The couple count among their blessings a fine family
that includes 5 children and their spouses, Denise and Paul Conner,
Cathy and Earnest Meyer, Brenda and Lee Richards, Christy and David
Holquin, and Tim and DeeDee Long, as well as 14 grandchildren and 12
great-grandchildren, with whom they treasure sharing the many
special occasions of life; and
WHEREAS, Looking back over the past six decades, Wayne and
Catherine Long can savor a wealth of cherished family memories and
know that the strength of their love and commitment ensures that
many more joyful times await them; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Wayne and Catherine Long on their
60th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for
continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Long as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
