H.R. No. 1901 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, There are no words that can diminish the pain caused by a young life cut short, but all those who shared in the love and friendship of Megan Lynn Self of Crawford treasure their memories of this special young woman, who died on April 5, 2011, at the age of 19; and WHEREAS, Born in Waco on July 4, 1991, Ms. Self was the daughter of Lonnie and Stella Self; she graduated from Crawford High School, where she was a good student and participated in track and cross-country; intent on continuing her education, she attended McLennan Community College; and WHEREAS, Ms. Self endeared herself to teachers, coworkers, classmates, and friends of all ages with her warmth, kindness, and sense of fun; her radiant smile and positive attitude brightened the days of those she encountered; moreover, she cared for her pets, Marley and Muffin, with great tenderness; and WHEREAS, Possessing a generosity of spirit that expressed itself in myriad ways, Megan Self brought joy to innumerable people, and their lives were forever enriched by her love and friendship; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Megan Lynn Self and extend sincere condolences to the members of her family: to her father, Lonnie Self, and her stepmother, Brenda Self; to her grandparents, James and Lynette Shepperd; to her sister, Ashley Self; to her brother, Zachary Self; to her stepsister, Angela Garrett Walton, and her husband, David; to her stepbrother, Jason Kunkel, and his wife, Lacy; to her nieces, Madison Garrett and Kaidy "Bug" Kunkel; to her nephew, Corbin Walton; to her boyfriend, Charlie Rogers; and to her many other relatives and friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Megan Self.
