H.R. No. 1904 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, The certain knowledge of a life well lived may temper the profound sadness felt at the passing of Dolores Patricia Jones Skelton of Waco on April 5, 2011, at the age of 81; and WHEREAS, Born in Lott on February 8, 1930, to Allen Jones and Florence Morris, the former Dolores Jones graduated from Baylor University and enjoyed a notable career as an educator in the Chilton and McGregor school districts; and WHEREAS, Mrs. Skelton shared a rewarding relationship with her husband, Jim Karroll Skelton, and together they raised five children, Lloyd, Patricia, Kathy, Dinah, and Rebecca Lynn Skelton Gropp, who preceded her mother in death; Mrs. Skelton was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and took great pleasure in watching sports, playing bridge, and being the doting "Memema" to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and WHEREAS, Dolores Skelton lived a caring and purposeful life, and she will forever be remembered with deep affection by all who held her close in their hearts; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Dolores Patricia Jones Skelton and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her son, Lloyd Skelton, and his wife, Lynda; to her daughters, Patricia Throckmorton and her husband, Gene, Kathy Gilland and her husband, Drew, and Dinah Seago and her husband, Steve; to her sister, Allene Jones; to her son-in-law, Chris Gropp; to her 21 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren; and to her other relatives and friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Dolores Skelton.
