H.R. No. 1906 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Family and friends were saddened by the passing of Helen Ruth Marek of West on April 3, 2011, at the age of 99, yet the memory of her full and rewarding life remains to comfort them in their time of loss; and WHEREAS, Born on November 15, 1911, in Wilbarger County to Anton and Annie Koval, Helen Koval was one of 10 children; she became the wife of Adolph F. Marek, and they enjoyed a fulfilling marriage until his passing in 1956; fortunate enough to find love a second time, she married Alfons Adolf Marek in 1961, and they shared more than three decades together; he too predeceased her; and WHEREAS, Mrs. Marek was a homemaker and a faithful member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West; she also belonged to SPJST Lodge No. 54, and she enjoyed gardening in her free time; and WHEREAS, Above all, Mrs. Marek loved her two children, Willie Mae and Adolph Frank, and she took great pride in her six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and WHEREAS, With her kind and caring ways, Helen Marek enriched all who were blessed to share in her life, and she will forever hold a treasured place in their hearts; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Helen Ruth Marek and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her son, Adolph Frank Marek, and his wife, Mary; to her daughter-in-law, Bessie Dornak; to her grandchildren, Mellissa Marie Tucker and her husband, Tony, Elaine Roth and her husband, Mark, the Reverend Melvin Dornak, Karen Hafner and her husband, Mark, John Dornak, and Michelle Renee Marek Manskey; to her eight great-grandchildren; and to her other relatives and friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Helen Ruth Marek.
