H.R. No. 1914
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced
by a great and enduring love, Duane Lee and Judy Baker of Mart
celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on March 17, 2011; and
WHEREAS, "Buddy" Baker and the former Judy Kay Hopkins were
united in matrimony at the First Baptist Church in Mart in 1961;
through the years, they have nurtured a fulfilling marriage that
has been made even richer with the addition of their children,
Belinda Summers and her husband, Royce, Dana Baker, and David Baker
and his wife, Stephanie; and
WHEREAS, While much has changed in the world over the past
half-century, this devoted husband and wife have remained constant
in their commitment to one another, and the strength of their love
has enabled them to meet life's challenges and opportunities with
grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Buddy and Judy Baker on their
golden wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes
for continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Baker as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
