H.R. No. 1922 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories of Nina Leathers-Hunt, who died on March 22, 2011, at the age of 87; and WHEREAS, Born in Hubbard on January 26, 1924, Nina Leathers was the daughter of Charlie and Laura Irene Leathers; she married Newton Aubrey Hunt in 1942, and with the passing years, they welcomed into their family three children, Ronnie, Alan, and Connie; and WHEREAS, Mrs. Leathers-Hunt and her husband lived on a small farm in Wichita Falls, where they raised goats; she also worked for Levi Strauss & Co. for 14 years; and WHEREAS, A resident of Waco since the early 1990s, Mrs. Leathers-Hunt was an avid gardener and belonged to the Waco Iris Society; and WHEREAS, Nina Leathers-Hunt enjoyed a life that was rich in the intangibles that matter most, and she is deeply missed by all those who held her dear; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Nina Leathers-Hunt and extend sincere condolences to the members of her family: to her children, Ronnie Hunt and his wife, Ann, Alan Hunt and his wife, Julie, and Connie Hunt Rutledge and her husband, Roy; to her grandchildren, Bobby Hunt, Teresa Cocke, Michelle Cuentas, Timothy Clark, Terry Clark, Tommy Rutledge, and Jason Rutledge; to her great-grandchildren, Jacob and Cassidy Cocke, Justin and Jessica Portillo, and Hanna and Grace Rutledge; and to her other relatives and friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Nina Leathers-Hunt.
