H.R. No. 1931 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Memories of a life filled with joyful times and meaningful accomplishments may comfort the family and friends of Virginia Frances Donaldson, who passed away on April 1, 2011, at the age of 87; and WHEREAS, A native of Lorena, Virginia Patton was born on September 15, 1923, to Willie E. Patton and Lila Cline Patton; after graduating from Lorena High School, she married Curtis Donnell Donaldson in Waco on June 10, 1944, and they went on to share a fulfilling partnership of 62 years and a family that grew to include four children, seven grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren; and WHEREAS, Mrs. Donaldson was devoted to her loved ones and served as a room mother for her children and also as president of the PTA; in addition, she taught Sunday school classes at the Bosqueville Baptist Church, was a certified cosmetologist, and participated in community affairs; an outgoing woman, she made friends easily throughout her life; and WHEREAS, Generous and kind, Virginia Donaldson will long be fondly remembered by all those who held her dear; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Virginia Frances Donaldson and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her sons, Lane Donaldson and his wife, Anita, and B. J. Donaldson and his wife, Linda; to her daughter, Lila Turner, and her husband, Grant; to her grandchildren, Michelle Collins, Rachel Newman, Lance, B. J. "Deuce," and Tiffany Donaldson, and Christopher and Nicholas Turner; to her great-grandchildren, Kamey and Lexi Newman, Kyle, Elizabeth, Maya, Anna, and Savannah Donaldson, Carter Collins, and Elijah Eaton; and to her other relatives and friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Virginia Frances Donaldson.
