H.R. No. 1942
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, A 50th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of
mutual devotion and shared experiences, and Sonny and Carol Ludwig
celebrated this joyous milestone in their marriage on April 7,
2011; and
WHEREAS, Sonny Ludwig and the former Carol Poteet were joined
in matrimony in 1961 at a ceremony held in Waco; through the years,
they have been blessed with a treasured family that includes two
sons, Roger Ludwig and his wife, Linda, and Rodney Ludwig and his
wife, Debbie, as well as six grandchildren, Meagan, Corey, Amber,
Brandy, Roger, and James, and seven great-grandchildren, Harley,
Haylee, McKenzie, Gabriella, Hunter, Holden, and Brady; and
WHEREAS, A veteran of the U.S. Army, Mr. Ludwig was
self-employed as a carpenter and cabinet maker in the China Spring
area before his retirement; Mrs. Ludwig retired from Kirsch
Manufacturing after 22 years of service; they are both valued
congregants of Christ American Lutheran Church in Waco; and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Ludwig have enjoyed five decades of
abiding love and affection for one another, and they are among an
exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a lasting
commitment; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Sonny and Carol Ludwig on their
golden wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes
for continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Ludwig as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
